Vintage 2013

A good vinatge ...

First day : Friday 4th, October

Another late year with numerous climatic hazards, but the harvest was quickly brought in before big rain. A very different year which should bring of pleasant surprises!


Le Manoir de l'étang

Plot of land from which arises the wine ' The Manoir', with once again golden grapes, a good maturity (12°C nature) for this vintage intended for a slow wine making in oak barrel. A small yield of 35hl  for this vine of more than 20 years.

     

Le plateau

Plot of land of 2ha30 of flinty soil from which arises the vine 'Tradition', which produced too beautiful grapes, a fruity juice which predicts a wine for the true aromas of sauvignon with  touches minerality, typical of this cuvée.

    

Around Sancerre  

A small plot of land of pinot noir situated under the walls, will produce a Sancerre wine with aromas of red berries very pleasant which will produce our Sancerre Rosé.

                                                   
Hand picking 

The manual picking allows us a first sorting of the grape in the cutting. Using 80 liter boxes and not truck participates in the quality of the wine. The grape arrives whole to the press, without triturage, what avoids the oxidation. The carpet which allows a second sorting, there is not a passage in a pump or a screw. It is the guarantee of a respect for the aromas and a quality security.

After the cleaning of all boxes, press, it is now necessary to leave the time in the grape juice to become wine. The vintage  2013 will be bottled in March, prepare your papillae..
